Aura & chakra energy reading
Aura Reading is a divination practice that reads the energy field formed around the human body. The word 'aura' derives from the Greek word aura (meaning a gentle breeze or breath), referring to the subtle layers of energy visible as light around living beings.
In aura reading, the color, density, size, and balance of this energy field are interpreted to read an individual's physical, emotional, and spiritual state. Through the meanings of different aura colors (red, yellow, green, blue, purple, etc.), one identifies the individual's current state and potential flows.
The concept of the aura appears across various traditions. In Hindu and Buddhist traditions, life energy was called prana, and the energy layers around the body were systematized through the kosha (鞘) system. In Chinese tradition, this energy is called chi. Zoroastrianism also contains the concept of a body of light (aura).
In the West, the aura became a subject of systematic study with the emergence of Theosophy in the 19th century. After Helena Blavatsky founded the Theosophical Society in 1875, Charles Leadbeater published The Aura: A Study of the Light Mist Observed Around Humans and Other Living Things in 1895, systematizing the layered structure and color interpretation of the aura.
In 1896, Auguste Marques published The Human Aura: A Study, classifying the aura into layers such as the kamic sheath and the auric egg. This Theosophical aura system forms the foundation of modern aura reading.
In 1939, Soviet inventor Semyon Kirlian and his wife Valentina discovered a technique for capturing corona discharge around objects using high-voltage electricity. This became known as Kirlian photography.
With the 1970 publication of Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain by Lynn Schroeder and Sheila Ostrander, Kirlian photography was introduced to the Western world and became widely popularized as a technology for visualizing the aura.
The academic community is skeptical of claims that Kirlian photography directly captures the aura, explaining it as an electrical corona discharge phenomenon. However, the practical system of aura reading is based on a tradition of reading the energy field through the reader's senses and intuition, independent of visualization technology.
In the Theosophical tradition, the aura consists of multiple layers. The first layer is the Etheric Body, the energy layer closest to the physical body with a bluish hue, serving as the foundational layer of life force. The second layer is the Emotional Body, which reflects emotional states and displays varied colors.
The third layer is the Mental Body, which reflects thought and cognitive activity and is characterized by yellow light. The fourth layer is the Astral Body, which reflects relationships and love with others, and the fifth layer is the Template Body, which contains the individual's spiritual blueprint.
This layered structure is based on Theosophical literature (Leadbeater, Besant, Marques), and modern aura reading also uses this classification as the standard for diagnosing the state of the energy field.
In aura reading, color is the key symbol for reading an individual's state. Red signifies vitality, passion, and activity; orange signifies creativity, confidence, and sociability; yellow signifies intellect, learning, and logic.
Green signifies healing, growth, and harmony; blue signifies tranquility, communication, and spiritual growth; purple signifies spirituality, intuition, and mystical insight. White signifies purity, purification, and spiritual awakening, while black signifies energy blockage, depression, and negative states.
The brightness and balance of colors are also important. A bright and balanced aura indicates a healthy state, while a dark or imbalanced aura indicates energy stagnation or problems. The reader synthesizes these to present the individual's current state and directions for improvement.
Modern aura reading is used as a tool for self-awareness and restoring energy balance. It is practiced in combination with meditation, yoga, and energy healing as part of the process of diagnosing one's energy state and finding emotional and spiritual balance.
The historical and cultural value of aura reading lies in the intellectual tradition it represents — how humans have understood life energy. Theosophical literature (Blavatsky, Leadbeater, Marques) and the discovery of Kirlian photography made the aura a subject of systematic study, forming the foundation of modern energy healing and self-awareness practices.
LunaWitch's aura reading is based on Theosophical classical literature and modern energy healing traditions, providing a guide to diagnose one's aura state and find balance. All results are for reference only, and we recommend using them as auxiliary tools for self-reflection and everyday wisdom.
